Job Description
Edwards Lifesciences seeks a Senior Manager, SEC Financial Reporting to oversee SEC filings, technical accounting memos, and financial close activities within the Global Accounting and Reporting group, onsite in Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
- Prepare schedules supporting quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 11-K, 8-K) and assist in drafting and reviewing financial statements, MD&A, and footnotes in line with SEC rules and US GAAP.
- Develop schedules for technical accounting areas including ASC 230 cash flows, ASC 320 investments, ASC 820 fair value measurements, ASC 825 financial instruments, and ASC 718 stock compensation, among others.
- Draft clear and concise technical accounting memos documenting the company’s accounting positions.
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses for complex accounting topics such as debt securities and investments.
- Support the review of shareholders’ equity statements, earnings per share calculations, and related financial disclosures.
- Monitor new disclosure requirements and FASB updates, collaborating with auditors to ensure proper implementation.
- Play a key role in designing and maintaining SOX controls, including drafting internal documentation and coordinating with internal auditors.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of external financial reporting documents.
- Educate finance and other departments on the impact of complex transactions, adopted accounting policies, new standards, and other technical matters as applicable.
- Proactively assess end-to-end workflows to identify opportunities for AI-enabled capabilities that improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Provide external and internal audit support within the scope of responsibilities.
- Manage special projects and other departmental duties as necessary.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for process improvement or course corrections.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent.
- Minimum of ten years of related experience, or eight years with a Master’s degree; total years may be reduced with public accounting experience.

- Experience with consolidations or corporate accounting
- Experience managing SEC filing processes for multinational public companies
- Experience with XBRL
- Hyperion systems, JD Edwards Enterprise One, and/or OneStream experience
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to identify AI-enabled process improvements
- Innovative use of IT tools and new technology
- Adaptable and flexible in a changing environment
