Sr Financial Data Analyst

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Senior Financial Data Analyst in Saint Paul, MN (onsite). In this role, you will apply advanced financial, statistical, and data analytics to complex healthcare finance and operational performance questions, leading independent projects that turn multi-source data into actionable insights for planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex analyses that explain financial and operational performance, including year-over-year changes, budget-to-actual variances, revenue and expense trends, productivity, utilization, capacity, reimbursement, and other key drivers.
• Develop concise, executive-ready summaries, dashboards, and recommendations that link detailed analysis to strategic and operational decisions.
• Assist with end-to-end financial assessment of strategic opportunities in close partnership with the Strategy Office and Finance.
• Build advanced financial models to support strategic recommendations, collaborate with the Strategy Office to present findings to senior leadership, and inform go/no-go decisions.
• Support post-investment performance tracking for strategic initiatives.
• Serve as a financial thought partner to help shape strategic recommendations and apply analytical rigor to decision-making.
• Develop and evaluate predictive models for financial forecasting, patient volume, capacity utilization, reimbursement, labor requirements, resource consumption, and operational performance.
• Select appropriate analytical techniques based on the business question, available data, assumptions, and intended use of outputs.
• Communicate model assumptions, limitations, confidence levels, and results clearly to financial and operational stakeholders.
• Determine when statistical or predictive analysis adds value and when a simpler methodology is more appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Business Administration, or another quantitative discipline.
• 5 years of analytics experience in healthcare or within another complex, multi-entity organization.
• 5 years of experience working with SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Python, or other data tools.
• Experience using artificial intelligence to improve efficiency in day-to-day responsibilities.
