Job Description
Senior Manager Finance, Cost Finance at Home Depot / THD is a leadership role based in Atlanta, GA, onsite. The position provides financial leadership, planning, and reporting while directing a team to drive cost control and key metrics in collaboration with the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth strategic analysis to fully understand the business and its drivers.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and organizational structures and implement changes.
- Plan and drive execution of departmental objectives aligned with broader financial goals.
- Participate in the annual budget process, monitor monthly expenditures, and ensure adherence to budget targets.
- Review monthly metrics to confirm goals are achieved and identify variances.
- Develop and support strategic partnerships with business stakeholders.
- Engage in cross-functional initiatives aimed at solving business issues and strengthening competitive advantage.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication with Finance, Operations, Information Systems, and other areas as needed.
- Lead, plan, and coordinate teams to execute financial activities efficiently and accurately.
- Utilize performance metrics to track results and manage workload effectively.
- Ensure operational processes and procedures comply with established policies and internal controls.
- Forecast revenues and expenditures and present findings to management.
- Conduct financial planning for the function and provide actionable recommendations.
- Drive key functional financial metrics to support business objectives.
- Oversee and ensure the quality of financial reporting.
Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
- MBA degree
- Prior experience leading an analysis or planning team
- Thorough working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal accounting controls
- Knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation
- Ability to develop and implement strategies that support the company objectives
- Ability to lead and develop subordinates
- Effective communication with all departments and levels of associates, both verbally and in writing
- Strong critical thinking skills, using logic to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
Direct Manager / Direct Reports
- Typically reports to the Director of Finance.
- Responsible for direct supervision of others, including planning, monitoring, and reviewing subordinates; may oversee a shift or multiple work groups. Responsibilities include recommendations on selection, termination, performance appraisal, and professional development.
Travel Requirements
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10 percent of the time.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily seated with regular opportunities to move; occasional light lifting may be required.
Working Conditions
- Located in a comfortable indoor environment; infrequent exposure to unusual conditions.
