Job Description
Chief Financial Officer position at Sharon Regional Hospital in Sharon, PA (onsite).
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and federal, state, and third-party payer regulations as they apply to health system policies, procedures, and the organization’s mission and values.
- Provide staff with access to regulatory and billing information necessary for daily operations.
- Maintain and update policies and procedures across the health system.
- Monitor adherence to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Lead ongoing staff education on changes to regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the financial health of the Health System and its subsidiary entities.
- Direct the development and coordination of the Health System budget.
- Assess fund availability and timing for capital budget expenditures.
- Promote cost containment across departments and programs.
- Review monthly budget reports for all areas and take appropriate action as needed.
- Evaluate alternative financing options and provide recommendations.
- Annually assess the Health System’s insurance needs and offer recommendations.
- Review bond issuance requirements and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Oversee, coordinate, and evaluate general accounting functions.
- Conduct annual reviews of policies and procedures for assigned areas, and approve revisions as needed.
- Ensure assigned areas comply with JCAHO requirements.
- Manage staff within assigned areas and ensure performance aligns with role expectations.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and ensure timely evaluations for other staff.
- Address employee concerns and foster positive staff morale and relations.
- Impose disciplinary actions when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required)
- 3 to 5 years of hospital experience (required)
- Clearances required as mandated by state and federal law
