Job Description
The Director, Finance / Business Controller oversees financial planning, accounting, and controllership across multiple sites and partners with business leaders to achieve revenue, profit, and working capital targets.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Business Manager and leadership to drive results and meet performance targets.
- Lead the development of the annual budget, contribute to the Strategic Plan, and manage month-end close, monthly reporting, and rolling quarterly forecasts.
- Maintain the books of record for the business, ensuring accurate and reliable reporting across all entities.
- Analyze operating performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, delivering actionable recommendations.
- Perform financial modeling and analysis including DCF, ROI, Make/Buy analyses, gross margin reviews, and pricing assessments for new opportunities and capital investments.
- Oversee general accounting, cost accounting, accounts receivable/payable, and compliance activities.
- Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger across all sites.
- Evaluate business performance and advise on policy improvements and operational enhancements.
- Act as a financial advisor to leadership and cross-functional teams within the business unit.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard assets and ensure precise financial reporting.
- Ensure GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) compliance across the organization.
- Drive continuous improvements in working capital performance.
- Demonstrate expertise in GAAP, cost accounting, and revenue recognition standards.
- Monitor and enforce accounting policies and procedures throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance (required).
- Experience in aviation MRO or a manufacturing finance environment is required.
- Strong foundation in GAAP, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
