Job Description
The North America Commercial finance leadership role oversees FP&A, budgeting, and decision support for Circle K's commercial operations in North America. Based in Charlotte, NC, this onsite position partners with sales and commercial teams to drive growth, optimize margins, and boost overall efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Own and direct all FP&A activities for North America Commercial, prioritizing sales performance, margin optimization, cost control, and investment prioritization to support both short-term operations and long-term growth.
- Collaborate closely with commercial leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that enable revenue growth, profitability targets, and operational efficiency, translating data into actionable insights for business decisions.
- Oversee end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for the commercial teams, ensuring plans are realistic, aligned with corporate goals, and responsive to market dynamics.
- Provide robust decision support through scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and advanced financial modeling; assess initiatives, pricing, promotions, and investments to optimize financial outcomes.
- Monitor and report on commercial financial performance, highlighting variances, emerging trends, risks, and opportunities, and deliver timely narratives to senior leadership for proactive management.
- Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and other functions to ensure integrated financial planning and execution, aligning assumptions, drivers, and performance metrics.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team; foster accountability, curiosity, continuous learning, and proactive problem-solving to support growth ambitions.
- Develop and evaluate business cases for strategic initiatives; act as an advisor to improve decision quality, standardizing methodologies, validating assumptions, and defining measurable success metrics.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and governance standards, promoting best practices in commercial finance and reporting.
- Represent Finance in commercial reviews, strategic planning sessions, and cross-functional leadership forums; influence senior stakeholders through data-driven insights and collaborative engagement.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and impact of commercial FP&A, championing automation, data integration, and analytics to increase value delivery.
- Contribute to the broader North America finance and commercial strategy by delivering insights that align operational plans with long-term objectives and financial targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in commercial finance or related roles.
- Experience in multi-unit or multi-market environments is a plus.
- Extensive commercial finance expertise, including sales forecasting, margin analysis, pricing, and promotional finance.
- Advanced financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis capabilities.
- Strong understanding of operational drivers affecting commercial performance.
- Proficiency with financial systems, ERP, and planning tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders.
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Strategic thinker with an analytical mindset and a practical execution focus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
