Director of Finance

UBGC is hiring a strategic Director of Finance to oversee financial operations, strengthen compliance, and support long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash management, audits, and internal controls.
• Deliver financial analysis and actionable recommendations to the CEO, executive leadership, and the Board of Directors.
• Lead annual budgeting, oversee monthly financial reporting, and maintain financial forecasting processes.
• Manage grant budgeting and ensure accurate compliance and financial reporting for grant activity.
• Act as primary point of contact for auditors, financial institutions, and the Finance/Audit Committee.
• Supervise and develop finance team members, driving accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management.
• Strong working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, auditing, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience leading teams and supervising staff.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Nonprofit accounting and financial management experience strongly preferred.

Compensation & Location

• Salary: USD 120,000 - 140,000 per year
• Location: Santa Barbara, CA (onsite)
