Job Description

Strategic, hands-on Director of Finance will lead accounting, finance, payroll, reporting, compliance, and operational finance functions at Akrivis Real Estate Valuation Services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general ledger, ledgers, and financial reporting systems to ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence.
  • Maintain internal controls safeguarding revenue, expenditures, assets, liabilities, and reporting integrity.
  • Design and uphold systems and controls to guarantee the integrity of all financial data and processes.
  • Build scalable accounting processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to enhance profitability, efficiency, ROE/ROA, and financial visibility.
  • Serve as a strategic financial advisor to ownership and executive leadership.
  • Chair the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Analyze operational and financial trends and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital planning for the organization.
  • Maintain the general ledger with reconciliations, recurring and non-recurring journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Own month-end and year-end close processes to deliver timely, accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements, annual reports, and executive dashboards with KPI reporting.
  • Generate balance sheets, income statements, cash flow analyses, and additional financial analyses.
  • Oversee operational accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and collections, cash management, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Develop and maintain profitability analysis models.
  • Support executive leadership with financial modeling, forecasting, scenario analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Direct payroll operations for employees and contractors, ensuring payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee contractor payments and 1099 reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll and employment regulations.
  • Evaluate and improve payroll systems, controls, and reporting processes.
  • Strengthen banking relationships and treasury management processes.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to assess staffing models, profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Manage compliance activities including audits, tax coordination, and internal controls.
  • Serve as primary liaison to external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, banking partners, and insurance providers.
  • Complete annual tax preparation and timely filing of corporate tax documents, payroll taxes, 1099 filings, and multi-state reporting.
  • Oversee local, state, and federal compliance requirements.
  • Direct internal and external audits and ensure timely responses to audit requests.
  • Stay current with accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry trends to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Build, develop, and manage an internal accounting and finance team as the company grows.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to finance staff.
  • Strengthen cross-department communication and collaboration.
  • Foster a high-performance, accountability-driven finance culture.
  • Partner with leadership on acquisitions, integrations, growth initiatives, and other strategic projects.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
  • Roles such as Controller, Director of Finance, or Accounting Manager, or similar.
  • Extensive oversight of financial reporting, accounting operations, payroll, budgeting and forecasting, tax coordination, and cash management.
  • Experience transitioning outsourced accounting functions in-house or managing hybrid models is highly preferred.
  • Experience in multi-state operations preferred.

Location and Compensation

Location: Menasha, Wisconsin (hybrid). Salary: USD 110,000 per year.
