Finance Analyst
Job Description
Advanced Tech Staffing is hiring a Finance Analyst for a Government Finance team in Indianapolis, IN (hybrid). This contract role focuses on preparing priced project proposals and Government-required submissions, supporting compliance efforts tied to U.S. Department of Defense requirements, and performing detailed reconciliations using advanced Excel skills.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare priced project proposals and Government-required submissions
- Provide compliance consultation by working with the Business and maintaining adherence
- Apply and interpret US Department of Defense requirements including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations, and Cost Accounting Standards regulations to assess company compliance and recommend improvements when needed
- Ensure the basis of estimate substantiation is compliant with the Truthful Cost or Pricing statute and the Estimating Business System requirements
- Prepare pricing proposals for Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRP) and contracts
- Prepare and review CASB Disclosure Statement, support rate monitoring, and assess impacts from Cost Accounting Practice changes
- Perform reconciliations to report incurred costs using advanced Excel skills
- Work directly with customer representatives, including Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
- Maintain and update policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Experience submitting Forward Pricing Rate Proposals and/or Incurred Cost Submissions
- FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) experience
- Very strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to complete tasks such as pivot tables and v-lookups when provided with a file
- Strong capability in analysis
- Common sense is emphasized
- Education and experience aligned to one of the following:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with 4+ years of financial experience, or
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with 2+ years of financial experience, or
- 6+ years of financial experience in lieu of a degree
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Familiarity with U.S. Government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and working knowledge of the customer-facing business unit proposal process
- Ability to understand the financial impact of business decisions
- Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of SAP (plus)
- Government contracting experience (plus)
- PowerPoint experience (plus) for potential presentation needs

Compensation and Schedule
Pay: USD 35.00 - 45.00 per hour

Why the Position Is Open
The role supports time-intensive analysis driven by strict DCAA (government audit agency) guidelines and new requirements. Additional work includes confirming pricing for building materials, analyzing whether prices are fair, and reviewing approximately 500 to 600 parts. The contract team expects the selected person to assist with other tasks as needed, with added contractor headcount to ensure sufficient coverage.
