Job Description

Part-time Finance Manager role in Winchester, VA (onsite), shared with the Lead Finance Manager to support essential Finance Office duties across three church missions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll, taxes, and W-2s for employees across First Baptist Church, Hunting Ridge Retreat, and Son'Shine Learning Center
  • Produce monthly and end-of-year financial statements for staff and committees, including:
    • Monthly balance sheet
    • Revenue and expense reports
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Record and process contributions using Realm, then post into ACS
  • Import and post online contributions from Realm to ACS
  • Coordinate with church volunteers to count and determine the weekly offering
  • Create an annual volunteer list for securing the Sunday offering in the church safe
  • Oversee work of the Scholarship and Memorial Committee and manage youth fundraising accounts
  • Prepare and deliver year-end contribution statements to contributors, including assigning envelope numbers
  • Maintain all financial records for all three missions, including:
    • Reservation deposits
    • Revenue deposits
    • Expense recording
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the Lead Finance Manager, church Treasurer, Chair of the Stewardship and Finance Committee, or the Senior Pastor

Requirements

  • Strong background in Accounting or Finance, preferably:
    • A degree in Business or Accounting (preferred)
    • Education in these areas
  • Experience with all facets of accounting systems
  • Hands-on experience with Excel
  • Experience creating and using pivot tables
  • Knowledge of accounting software
  • Passed background check
  • Ability to relocate before starting work to Winchester, VA 22601 (required)

Purpose

Support the Lead Finance Manager in completing essential duties of the Finance Office.
