Finance Officer

This on-site, full-time Finance Officer position is based in Winchester, VA and requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. The role covers general accounting, financial reporting, audits coordination, and regulatory reporting for Highlands Bankshares, Inc. and HBI Life Insurance Company. You will support year-end closing, tax computations, and compliance with Federal Reserve and state reporting requirements. Responsibilities

• Manage general accounting functions for Highlands Bankshares, Inc. and HBI Life Insurance Company, including preparing journal entries, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
• Prepare the Annual Report
• Prepare Federal Reserve Call Reports
• Prepare quarterly holding company adjusting entries
• Prepare holding company eliminating entries
• Assist with year-end closing
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes
• Assist tax accountant with tax computations and provide tax schedules when requested
• Prepare and file all required Federal Reserve, WV Division of Banking, WV Secretary of State, and other regulatory reports on behalf of the holding company
• Perform other duties as assigned by the board, audit committee, Holding Company President or bank CEO

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred - or equivalent
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation
