Financial Accounting Advisory Services - Manager

EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Manager role is designed to support clients facing complex finance and controllership challenges across industries. The position emphasizes project-specific problem solving, close client collaboration, and leadership within the FAAS team.

Role Overview

As a FAAS Manager, you will contribute to the growth of the Financial Accounting Advisory Services team while guiding work through non-standard, complex accounting matters. You will communicate strategic goals with both internal stakeholders and clients, help drive creative solutions to emerging issues, and ensure engagement teams align with client expectations and ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the growth of the Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team
• Communicate creative, strategic goals to internal and external audiences
• Develop approaches to complex issues by thinking quickly and challenging existing practices
• Collaborate across multiple service lines by building relationships and identifying opportunities for clients to benefit from broader knowledge
• Ensure the Engagement team fully understands clients’ unique needs, ambitions, and expectations
• Work with partners, senior managers, and clients to influence strategy while balancing risk and client expectations
• Meet with key clients, with regular travel required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a business discipline, plus approximately 5 to 8 years of experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm
• US CPA licensure in your work state
• Strong technical writing skills and advanced risk management knowledge
• Deep understanding of the marketplace, including commonly used terminology, processes, and tools
• Proven track record of excellence managing, mentoring, and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
• Confidence to research and resolve emerging client issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies
• Ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
• Access to reliable transportation to and from EY office and client sites; a driver’s license is strongly recommended given ride share and public transportation availability may vary

• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business discipline
• External audit experience at a Big 4 accounting firm

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: USD 112,700 - 234,800 per year. Base salary range varies by geography.

• Comprehensive compensation and benefits package rewarded based on performance
• Base salary range in all US geographic locations: $112,700 to $206,500
• Base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento): $135,200 to $234,800

Location and Travel

San Francisco, CA (hybrid). Regular travel is required, and reliable transportation to client sites is necessary.
