Financial Analyst

An onsite Financial Analyst role at USI Holdings Corporation in Falls Church, VA, focused on forecasting and reporting financial results for designated areas, in collaboration with finance, sales, regional management, and the National Accounting Center to ensure forecast data remains current and accurate. Salary ranges from USD 70,000 to 80,000 per year. A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting and at least three years of relevant experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Examine monthly production outcomes to identify revenue by line of business and operating unit.
• Generate a roll-forward revenue report by line of business and operating company before the month-end close.
• Verify transaction accuracy in Sagitta and BenefitPoint as recorded by the Accounting Center and imported from other source systems.
• Prepare the monthly forecast by line of business and operating company.
• Ensure HR data accuracy and compare actual results to forecast trends.
• Review and update data on new and lost business with practice leaders and managers.
• Assess the revenue forecast for the CRM pipeline.
• Analyze trailing revenue trends and adjust the forecast as needed.
• Update the expense forecast.
• Prepare a narrative analysis of operating company results, including prior year, prior forecast, and budget comparisons, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Review producer compensation calculations.
• Execute the monthly financial close and reporting, including production analysis, producer compensation, audits, charge backs, closing journal entries, and management reports.
• Coordinate and review compensation settlements for regional sales professionals.
• Provide the Accounting Center with needed general ledger entries to address review findings.
• Prepare the annual budget by line of business and operating company, collaborating with practice leaders, OpCo leaders, and operating managers to capture expenses, revenue, and new initiatives.
• Validate and audit quarterly corporate producer awards incentive data.
• Produce corporate analysis reports for operating company or region on a monthly or ad-hoc basis.
• Collaborate with Corporate Finance and IT to continually improve data flows, reporting systems, and analysis.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or finance; experience in the insurance field is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with limited supervision.
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with staff and management at all levels to drive performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
