Job Description
Oak Hill Contractors, LLC is seeking a hands on Financial Controller to lead accounting, job costing, and financial reporting for its construction and excavation site work operations. This on site role is based in Ewing, Illinois, with a salary range of USD 75,000 to 100,000 per year, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Direct all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and job cost accounting.
- Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain Work in Progress schedules and monitor project profitability.
- Track budgets, costs, and margins for excavation and site development projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to capture labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs accurately.
- Develop and manage budgets and cash flow forecasts to support operations and capital needs.
- Oversee payroll processing for field and shop personnel, including certified payroll when required.
- Monitor equipment costs, utilization, maintenance, and depreciation.
- Review subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, and insurance certificates for compliance.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and bonding agents for reporting and audits.
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, promoting accuracy and accountability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with construction experience strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage of completion revenue recognition.
- Proficiency with construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE, QuickBooks Contractor, Viewpoint, or similar tools.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Experience in equipment cost tracking and capital budgeting.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with project teams.

Ability to Commute
Location preference: Ewing, IL 62836 (Preferred).
Ability to Relocate
Relocation to Ewing, IL 62836 before starting work is preferred.
