Job Description
Lime Rock Park is seeking a Financial Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations while providing strategic financial guidance to executive leadership. This is a hands-on role based in Lakeville, CT (onsite), partnering closely with operations, sales, and other departments to strengthen internal controls, improve performance, and support confident decision-making.

Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
- Manage and mentor a small accounting team while staying actively involved in daily accounting activities.
- Support AP and AR workflows, ensuring invoices, deposits, payments, and vendor transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Produce monthly financial statements, executive reporting, cash flow analyses, annual budgets, forecasts, and profitability reporting.
- Monitor and analyze revenue from ticket sales, sponsorships, concessions, merchandise, hospitality, venue rentals, catering, parking, and special events.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Food & Beverage, Facilities, and Executive Leadership to manage budgets, control expenses, and improve financial performance.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and approval workflows.
- Manage cash flow, deposits, vendor payments, settlements, and working capital activities.
- Coordinate financial reporting and reconciliation for event settlements, promoter agreements, sponsorship contracts, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, licensing requirements, audits, insurance reporting, and other regulatory obligations.
- Oversee insurance administration, including policy renewals, certificates of insurance, claims support, premium tracking, and reporting.
- Lead annual budgeting and contribute to capital planning, labor forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and financial partners.
- Identify financial risks and operational inefficiencies, recommending improvements to profitability and performance.
- Partner with Human Resources and Payroll to support accurate, timely onboarding and payroll processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Finance role.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, tax compliance, and audit preparation.
- Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, cash management, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, POS platforms, ticketing systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Preferred qualifications
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
- Experience in hospitality, entertainment, sports, event venues, food & beverage, or similar operational environments.
- Experience with technology vendors and third-party service providers.
