Job Description

PeopleFund is seeking a Financial Controller to strengthen financial integrity and ensure accurate, complete reporting through well-defined procedures, controls, and disciplined reporting cycles. The role reports to the CFO and provides leadership across accounting, audit, investor reporting, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of PeopleFund’s general accounts and internal financial controls.
  • Oversee and manage the financial accounting system.
  • Lead the audit process, including the IRS 990 report and financial statements.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reporting cycles.
  • Handle cash management and risk management activities.
  • Own management and investor reporting, including financial and investment analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy of investor relations reporting and support investment portfolio management.
  • Support full transparency of the company’s financial performance through adherence to applicable accounting requirements.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with FASB Accounting Standards, including working with auditors during the annual audit, preparing actual versus budget reports, tracking KPIs, and maintaining compliance.
  • Support the CFO with monthly and annual financial plans and budgets.
  • Support the Front Desk / Office Manager regarding facilities.
  • Support HR functions as needed.
  • Communicate potential risks in a timely and clear manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • CPA required (professional accounting designation).
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working in non-profits is an advantage.
  • Experience working with government contracts and/or grants is an advantage.
  • Experience working in Financial Services is an advantage.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Results-oriented, strategic thinker and planner.

Compensation and Location

Salary: USD 120,000 per year

Work Location: Austin, TX (onsite)
