Financial Operations Specialist II (Equipment Finance)
Job Description
Hybrid financial operations role supporting the Equipment Finance Division with compliance-focused workflows, transaction processing, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
- Facilitate end-to-end processes and day-to-day workflow while ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and internal policies
- Maintain records and operational systems required for business execution
- Post payment transactions, update account information, answer payment-related inquiries, and resolve issues aligned to service standards and business goals
- Receive and review incoming remittance, including checks, electronic funds transfers, credit card payments, and other payment types
- Process customer/dealer refunds for overpayments, including obtaining the proper authorization and approvals
- Set up, update, and cancel ACH payments as required, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for successful transactions
- Perform GAO reconciliation by comparing cash posting activity to bank deposits, identifying discrepancies, and investigating payment processing errors
- Manage suspense items through regular reviews and analysis, identifying trends and improvement opportunities
- Use the Five9 system for weekly outreach and research activities to partner with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding suspense items in a timely manner
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, including diagnosing workflow inefficiencies
- Complete assigned cases within SLA parameters with accurate operational judgment
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports using MS Access and Excel
- Follow, develop, and implement quality assurance procedures and methodologies to surface potential issues, discrepancies, or risks in financial operations
- Resolve audits and reviews of financial transactions, records, and processes to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
- Contract and asset maintenance support: review and assess contract terms, ensure compliance with contract requirements, resolve disputes, monitor performance, and make amendments or updates as needed
- Assist with research and clearing variances across different payment-related scenarios
- Support and enable team effectiveness by guiding and assisting less experienced team members as needed
- Learn group and business policies, procedures, and business systems
- Learn and implement core values; complete assigned compliance and regulatory courses within required deadlines
- Complete contemplated assignments within expected timeframes; support management initiatives and special projects related to maximizing portfolio performance, including cross-functional assignments
- Perform system testing as required by management
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience in Banking, Finance, or Accounting
- High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in Banking, Finance, or Accounting
