Job Description

The Financial Planning Associate role supports Kestra Financial’s Planning Group by delivering centralized, insourced financial planning services for approximately 2,000 advisors across the United States. Based in Austin, TX, this position helps coordinate planning intake, build financial plans using planning technology, and support advisor-facing presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand working knowledge of planning software technology and fintech planning concepts
  • Collect, organize, and develop client data within a financial planning context
  • Prepare client financial plans and plan presentations for advisor review
  • Manage data entry and support presentation development for client meetings related to financial planning
  • Attend client meetings in a technical and supporting capacity
  • Analyze and research planning industry trends, intellectual capital, technological advances in the planning field, and some advanced planning topics
  • Provide advisor relationship management support, including ongoing and regular advisor contact and communications
  • Track and cross-reference planning data using internal systems

Required Qualifications

  • CFP certification required, or actively pursuing the CFP designation with coursework completed
  • Ability to operate efficiently while meeting operational requirements to deliver a consistent client experience
  • Strong attention to detail with a process-driven approach and effective time management
  • Ability to multi-task, understand priorities, and execute accordingly
  • High self and other awareness, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset
  • Capacity to spend substantial time on detailed, micro-level tasks while contributing to the broader environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point, with the ability to quickly learn new software
  • Experience working with eMoney and MoneyGuide

Internal Application Policy

  • Internal applicants must be in good standing and have a minimum of 1 year of service with Kestra
  • Internal applicants must also have a minimum of 1 year of service in their current role unless approved by EVP
