Japanese-English Bilingual Business Analyst / Systems Engineer (Financial Systems)

Join an established Japanese IT solutions group delivering systems integration and technology services to corporate clients. We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Systems Engineer to support financial systems operations and drive business analysis initiatives. The ideal candidate can translate business requirements into practical system solutions and contribute to project delivery. Location is New York City, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement; fully remote options may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing system support for financial platforms, performing issue and incident analysis to restore service effectively.
• Gather, evaluate, and document business requirements for new initiatives, system enhancements, and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with users, stakeholders, and technical teams to clarify needs and translate requirements into practical system solutions.
• Support business analysis activities across financial systems projects, including requirement definition, workflow mapping, gap analysis, and process improvement.
• Investigate production incidents, identify root causes, and coordinate with internal and external teams to drive resolution.
• Produce functional documentation such as business requirements, process flows, test scenarios, and related project materials.
• Assist with testing, user acceptance support, implementation coordination, and post-launch follow-up as needed.
• Communicate effectively in both Japanese and English with clients, users, and project teams.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Proven performance in system support, issue analysis, and business analysis.
• Experience in foreign exchange, swaps, bonds, derivatives, and core banking systems.
• Strong analytical abilities to translate business needs into practical system solutions.
• Japanese and English bilingual communication skills are required.
• Ability to work effectively with both business users and technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote or distributed environment.

Compensation

Salary: USD 120,000 - 130,000 per year.
