Junior Analyst

This Junior Analyst role at Huntington Bank is based in Columbus, Ohio and focuses on supporting analytical, modeling, and reporting activities within ALM Strategy & Treasury Finance. The position contributes to balance sheet analytics, interest rate risk measurement, hedge strategy, and investment portfolio analysis, and involves producing materials for committee discussions.

Responsibilities

• Balance Sheet and ALM Analytics: Support the production and analysis of key ALM metrics including Net Interest Income at risk, Economic Value of Equity, and Tangible Common Equity sensitivity.
• Hedge Strategy Support: Assist in developing and analytically supporting interest rate hedging strategies, covering exposure identification, instrument evaluation, and scenario analysis.
• Balance Sheet Optimization Support: Provide analytical backing for balance sheet optimization initiatives across the investment portfolio and liquidity position, including securities allocation, duration and yield analysis, funding mix considerations, and evaluation of strategic alternatives to enhance balance sheet performance.
• Reporting and Committee Materials: Prepare recurring and ad hoc materials for committees, such as risk dashboards, strategy recommendations, and performance summaries.
• Forecasting and Scenario Analysis: Support balance sheet forecasting, rate scenario modeling, and sensitivity analyses to inform strategic and tactical decisions.
• Process, Controls and Documentation Support: Assist in strengthening controls around existing processes, maintaining procedures, model documentation, and control artifacts aligned with regulatory expectations and second line of defense scrutiny.
• Ad hoc Analysis: Deliver quantitative analyses in support of Treasury and ALM Strategy requests as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least one year of experience in financial analysis, treasury, ALM, or related reporting, including use of Excel, PowerPoint, and a financial reporting/analytics platform (e.g., Essbase, QRM, Emperyan)
