Recruiter — Independent Financial Advisors & Agents (1099 Contracting)
Job Description
United Advisors America is hiring a recruiter for independent financial advisors and licensed agents (1099 contractors) in Prosper, TX (onsite). This is a full-cycle sourcing and closing role with a flat-rate base pay plus incentive compensation tied to successful hiring outcomes. If you build pipeline through outbound outreach, manage your own job board and ATS, and can sell commission-based independence with confidence, this opportunity is designed for that work.
Responsibilities
- Develop target lists of licensed advisors, field sales producers, and agents, then actively source them through calls, text, email, LinkedIn, referrals, industry events, competitor mapping, and public license and registration data.
- Own job board postings and ATS administration, with same-day follow-up to applicants while keeping records and recruiting activity clean and current, then continue building the pipeline through your own outreach.
- Pitch the opportunity with a salesperson mindset, covering contractor economics, commission structure, book ownership, independence, and the support available behind it, while handling objections.
- Screen candidates against real production criteria, including licensing and registration status and whether they can operate as a genuine independent contractor.
- Run the process end to end, from first cold touch through a signed independent contractor agreement to onboarding as a producing advisor, with persistent follow-up through every stage most recruiters abandon.
- Maintain a live pipeline where every candidate has a defined next step and a calendar date.
- Test and prune recruiting channels across industry job boards, trade publications, professional associations, social platforms, and referrals, removing anything that does not produce contracted advisors.
- Track and report your own recruiting metrics: outreach, conversations, qualified submissions, contracts signed, and advisors who reach production.
- Keep sourcing, screening, and selection consistent with company policy and applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with your manager to maintain opportunity ads, role criteria, and recruiting messaging.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting where you sourced candidates (not only screened them), with a documented record of outbound-sourced hires or contracts.
- Direct experience recruiting 1099 independent contractors, commission-only producers, or licensed agents.
- Ability to name the population, the volume, and the results of your sourcing efforts.
- Financial services, insurance, or another licensed commission-sales environment, or demonstrated credibility discussing licensing such as Series 6, 7, 65, 66 and state life and health, along with advisor compensation structures.
- Proven ability to sell and handle objections tied to independence, economics, and compensation.
- Strong written and verbal communication with follow-through that does not require reminders.
- Comfort running your own calendar and managing your own pipeline.
- Hands-on ownership of an ATS and job board postings (writing and placing ads, managing spend and channels, and working the applicant queue quickly), plus willingness to hunt beyond the inbound funnel.
- Working proficiency with an ATS or CRM and Microsoft Office.
- Discipline to log activity accurately every day.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
- Life insurance.
How You Will Be Measured
- Weekly outbound activity: dials, live conversations, and new sourced candidates.
- Qualified candidates advanced per week.
- Independent contractor agreements signed per month.
- Contracted advisors who reach production.
Tools
- ATS, CRM, Microsoft Office, LinkedIn.
Important: This is a full-cycle sourcing and closing role focused on contracting independent financial advisors, field sales producers, and licensed agents as 1099 independent contractors, not employees. Recruited candidates run their own books of business and control their own schedules. Recruiting is more like commission sales than corporate talent acquisition. You will run job boards and own your ATS, and you must generate most of your pipeline through outbound outreach because the highest-value candidates typically do not apply to ads.
Please do not apply if your experience is limited to HR generalist, HR coordinator, benefits, payroll, or office administration, or if you have only recruited W-2 employees into corporate or salaried roles.
