Job Description
Grow profitability with data-driven strategy at Fielmann USA in Deerfield, IL. This onsite role turns complex financial and market information into clear insights that help optimize performance across locations and support ongoing expansion in retail optical.
You will collaborate with operations, finance, and marketing teams to develop models, evaluate investment opportunities, and deliver executive-ready analysis through dashboards, investment memos, and board presentations.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain financial models and valuation analyses to evaluate new store openings, acquisitions, and performance improvement initiatives
- Partner across teams to analyze store-level performance, customer metrics, and margin drivers
- Conduct competitive and market analysis for the retail optical sector, including pricing strategies, consumer behavior, and technology adoption
- Evaluate and interpret financial statements, market trends, and economic indicators
- Build models to assess the viability and profitability of potential investments
- Monitor and report on industry developments, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes
- Create and present executive-level dashboards, investment memos, and board presentations summarizing findings and recommendations
- Support integration of newly acquired practices or retail locations by developing KPIs and financial frameworks to track success
- Partner with leadership to refine pricing, inventory, and capital allocation strategies based on analytics
- Maintain current knowledge of optical industry trends and the competitive environment
- Lead the design and implementation of strategic analyses that are complex and highly cross-functional
- Present findings and field questions from the Executive Leadership team, Board of Directors, and stakeholder groups
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in private equity, equity research, investment banking, or corporate strategy
- Demonstrated experience building detailed financial models, completing valuation and ROI analyses, and enabling data-informed decision making
- Strong understanding of retail operations, unit economics, and growth strategies in a customer-facing environment
- Proven ability guiding strategy development and implementation
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior leadership
- Detail-oriented self-starter with strong business acumen
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Advanced proficiency with financial and market research tools (e.g., Capital IQ, FactSet, Tableau, Power BI)
- Demonstrated experience with multi-unit retail or healthcare services preferred
