Senior Financial Analyst - Assistant Controller

Velmar Food Services is hiring a detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to support reporting, budgeting, accounting operations, and internal control activities on-site in Phoenix, AZ.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and maintain financial reports and monthly statements
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial planning efforts
• Perform analysis of revenue, expenses, and operational performance trends
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Monitor internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting procedures
• Reconcile accounts and investigate variances or financial discrepancies
• Provide support for audits and management reporting deliverables

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Several years of experience in financial analysis or accounting
• Strong working knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• CPA or CMA certification is an advantage
