Job Description
Alachua County is seeking a Senior Financial Management Analyst to guide budgeting, finance, and program analysis across operations and policy. This on-site role in Gainesville, Florida centers on planning, designing, and conducting studies that inform administrative decisions while providing crucial support to the unit’s financial and administrative functions. The position offers an hourly rate of $38 and requires a bachelor’s degree with three years of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design and conduct operational, policy, and programmatic studies
- Recommend and assist with the implementation of program, policy, and procedure modifications
- Assist with general administrative support of the assigned organizational unit
- Perform sophisticated research and a range of operational and policy analyses to maximize resource utilization and effectiveness
- Work under the direction of a higher level supervisor
- Have results reviewed through conferences, reports, and monitoring of outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, management information systems, or a related field
- Three years of progressively responsible professional experience in administrative or management services, including planning, organizing, budgeting, finance, or accounting, and conducting high-level administrative or related studies
- Or any equivalent combination of related training and experience
- A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for two years of experience
- Applicants within six months of meeting the minimum education/experience requirements may be considered for trainee status
- Successful completion of all applicable background checks, pre-hire and ongoing
- Debt management and capital planning and budgeting experience is desirable
- Certification or willingness to become a Government Financial Officer is desirable

- An employee in this classification performs sophisticated research and a variety of operational and policy analysis activities designed to maximize resource utilization and operational effectiveness within the unit.
- Work is performed under the direction of a higher level supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of results obtained.
