Job Description
A Senior Supply Chain Finance Analyst – Inventory at Smith & Nephew operates at the intersection of finance and operations, guiding inventory valuation, internal controls, and cost accounting within a complex ERP environment. Located in Fort Worth, Texas with a hybrid work arrangement, this role partners across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to ensure accurate costing and inventory integrity in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and validate inventory adjustments, ensuring the financial impact is correct and auditable.
- Perform Purchase Price Variance analysis and collaborate with Procurement and Finance to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Identify and resolve Unit of Measure discrepancies that affect inventory accuracy and financial reporting.
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials to support accurate costing, production, and planning.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Prepare inventory and cost analysis reports to aid operational and leadership decision-making.
- Ensure ERP transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with standard operating procedures and internal controls.
- Work with Manufacturing and Warehousing teams to ensure proper material movements and inventory integrity.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and analytical support.
- Lead and coordinate inventory cycle counts, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, cost control, and process efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Inventory Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory and cost data.
- Experience working within ERP systems and data-driven environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and process integrity.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced operations environment.
