Vice President, Finance Product Owner

Mutual of America Financial Group is hiring a Finance Product Owner to lead the Finance technology and transformation portfolio in a hybrid role based in New York, NY. This position is accountable for product management, governance, and the execution of technology strategy that supports Finance strategic objectives, with ownership of budgets, resources, and portfolio processes.

As Vice President, you will guide a portfolio of complex Finance programs and initiatives, partnering with Finance and Technology leaders to modernize processes, improve controls and data quality, and deliver measurable business outcomes. The role also includes chairing governance forums, advising senior leadership on investment options, and building organizational capability across Finance product management and transformation disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Finance technology and product management strategy in support of Finance business objectives.
• Partner with Finance executives to identify opportunities for automation, process modernization, analytics, and technology enablement.
• Establish multi-year roadmaps across Finance products, platforms, and transformation initiatives.
• Sponsor large-scale initiatives to improve efficiency, controls, data quality, and user experience.
• Advise senior Finance leadership on technology capabilities, investment options, and transformation opportunities.
• Own the Finance technology and transformation portfolio, including intake, prioritization, governance, and investment planning.
• Chair Finance technology governance and steering committee forums.
• Develop and manage annual budgets for Finance technology, transformation, and product management activities.
• Establish standards for business cases, prioritization, benefit realization, and portfolio reporting.
• Balance investments and resources across Finance functions and business priorities.
• Monitor portfolio performance and ensure delivery of expected business outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to simplify, standardize, and automate Finance processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness through technology, data, and workflow enhancements.
• Drive adoption of best practices across Finance processes and supporting technologies.
• Sponsor continuous improvement initiatives across multiple Finance functions.
• Serve as a strategic partner to Finance and Technology leaders.
• Influence investment priorities, resource allocation, and roadmap decisions.
• Lead teams of Directors, Product Owners, Program Managers, and business analysts.
• Build organizational capability within Finance product management and transformation disciplines.
• Drive alignment across Finance stakeholders regarding portfolio priorities and transformation objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across senior leadership teams.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: USD 160,700 to 241,000 per year.
