Job Description
The Controller / Finance & Operations Manager will oversee financial management, compliance, and operational oversight for a multi-entity real estate portfolio across Wisconsin and Florida. This on-site role in Green Bay, WI offers an hourly rate of USD 36-40.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting for multiple entities (LLCs/SRLs and affiliated companies)
- Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accuracy across entities
- Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate cash positions
- Prepare consolidated and entity-level financial statements
- Develop cash flow forecasts and capital planning models
- Produce budget versus actual variance analyses for management review
- Maintain intercompany accounting structures and perform eliminations as needed
- Collaborate with external CPA firms on tax filings and audits
- Manage property taxes and payroll processes
- Monitor financial performance of multifamily properties across Wisconsin and Florida
- Oversee rent rolls, revenue tracking, and occupancy metrics
- Develop property-level budgets and enforce expense controls
- Track capital expenditures and conduct ROI analyses
- Partner with property management teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment
- Maintain corporate structures across multiple entities (LLCs/SRLs)
- Ensure compliance with state regulations in Wisconsin and Florida, including annual filings, registrations, and reporting requirements
- Manage business licenses, insurance policies, and corporate documentation
- Support legal and transactional activities such as entity formation, acquisitions, and dispositions
- Oversee banking relationships and account structures
- Manage cash positioning across entities
- Approve and monitor accounts payable and receivable, distributions, owner draws, and capital calls
- Ensure robust internal controls and fraud prevention practices
- Maintain relationships with CPA firms, property management companies, legal counsel, and financial institutions
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Real estate accounting experience, with multifamily experience preferred
- Experience in multi-entity or complex ownership structures
- Background operating in multiple states, with Wisconsin and/or Florida strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
- Experience with intercompany accounting and consolidations
- Proficiency in cash flow modeling and financial forecasting
- Experience using accounting and property management systems (for example AppFolio, Yardi, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
