Job Description
Thrivent, operating through Voyage Financial Advisors, is seeking a Director of Planning Operations for an onsite, in-person role in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. In this position, you will lead planning operations, support financial advisors and clients, and manage the planning team while driving efficiency and revenue growth through process improvements and AI tools. The role offers a compensation range of $90,000 to $135,000, commensurate with experience, and requires a strong blend of financial planning expertise, leadership, and operational acumen.
Responsibilities
- Actively prepare financial analyses and develop financial plans, serving as a hands-on planner in a fast-paced, high-producing environment.
- Integrate Microsoft Co-Pilot and other AI tools into processes and operations.
- Lead, coach, and develop members of the financial planning team.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and delivery of comprehensive financial plans, ensuring accuracy and process efficiency.
- Assist in the creation of financial plans.
- Help the advisory team by creating straightforward implementation steps to drive revenue growth through execution.
- Partner with advisors to support client planning strategies, meeting preparation, and advisor meeting guides.
- Control and formalize processes for RMDs, internal policy payments, death claims, and opportunities.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of client data within planning and CRM systems.
- Improve and scale planning and meeting-prep workflows, tasking, and opportunities to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Directly prepare meetings for 20-40 appointments per week.
- Serve as a senior planning resource on complex client cases.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information.
- Ensure adherence to Thrivent policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Securities (Series 7 and 66 or Series 7, 63 and 65) and resident state Life, Health and Annuities registrations.
- Satisfactory background check, fingerprinting and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Project and process management experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience in financial planning or related financial services roles.
- CFP designation preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years of start date.
- Exceptional people, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with financial planning tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
