Finance Director

The Finance Director collaborates with the CEO to guide financial health, operations, and long-range planning for The Family Schools' school and summer camp, based onsite in Brewster, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
• Develop timely, accurate financial dashboards and management reports to inform the CEO and leadership team.
• Maintain robust internal controls and regulatory compliance; coordinate annual audits and tax filings.
• Manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and day-to-day business office activities.
• Supervise administrative personnel and oversee vendor relationships and contract management.
• Design and implement streamlined workflows, internal controls, and documentation to strengthen organizational capacity.
• Collaborate with the CEO on long-range financial planning and organizational strategy.
• Promote a culture of professionalism, stewardship, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum five years of progressive financial leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and payroll operations
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Proven track record of improving financial systems and organizational processes
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
