Finance Director

Converse County Aging Services offers a supportive environment for an experienced Finance Director to lead nonprofit financial operations. This is an in-person role in Denver, CO, with a starting salary of USD 70,000 per year and a benefits package that includes medical coverage (with the employee portion paid by CCAS), retirement, and time-off options.

What you’ll do

You will oversee the nonprofit’s day-to-day finance function, partnering with organizational leadership while ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and dependable cash management.

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting records and documentation
• Prepare, monitor, and support organizational budgets
• Produce financial reports for leadership and the Board of Directors
• Monitor cash flow, revenues, and expenditures
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Support payroll and related financial processes
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals
• Support the annual audit
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial procedures, and accountability
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, efficiency, reporting, and accountability
• Provide financial information and analysis to support organizational decisions

What you bring

• Strong accounting and financial management skills
• Experience with budgeting and financial reporting
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger activity
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial staff and leadership
• Strong computer and financial software skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
• Nonprofit accounting experience, or experience in healthcare, human services, senior services, government, or community-based organizations is highly valued
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered

Compensation and benefits

• Starting salary: $70,000 annually (consideration given to experience and qualifications)
