Job Description

Finance Manager in Workday's Product Finance organization in Pleasanton, CA (hybrid), delivering financial leadership, forecasting, and analytics to support growth and data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to business-unit leaders, offering strategic financial guidance on investments, new opportunities, and development initiatives, even when the path forward is not fully defined.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and GTM strategy teams to advance revenue goals, delivering financial analysis on pricing, packaging, and other revenue-driving initiatives; move quickly from hypothesis to recommendation.
  • Oversee all FP&A processes for the unit, including annual planning, long-range planning, budgeting, and rolling forecasts, continuously challenging assumptions and stress-testing models.
  • Own the monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analytics packages, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for business leaders and executive teams.
  • Conduct qualitative analysis of KPIs using financial modeling to assess performance and advise on the financial impact of operational decisions; proactively surface issues and recommend actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and simplification of financial processes and reporting; implement scrappy solutions when needed and scale them with precision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Engage in cross-functional initiatives to establish robust measurement and monitoring practices, partnering with IT, Data, and other finance teams to align systems with business goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related business function with a focus on FP&A.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

About the Role

Workday Pay Transparency Statement

Pay ranges vary by location. For the primary location Pleasanton, base pay ranges from $157,700 to $236,500 USD. For other US locations, base pay ranges from $133,100 to $236,500 USD. This role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, plus annual refresh stock grants; final offers depend on geography and other factors.
