Job Description

Based in New York, NY with a hybrid work arrangement, EY's Integrated Finance Managed Services team invites you to join as an Assistant Controller. This role supports IFMS engagements, coordinating with Central and Regional Delivery Executives and EY colleagues to manage accounting, close processes, and key client deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Central and Regional IFMS Delivery Executives and the GDS service delivery team to address operational challenges and clearly communicate delivery performance and risks.
  • Work with the Service Delivery Executive to monitor delivery health, flag issues early, and drive resolutions for deviations or client-impacting concerns.
  • Assist the Commercial Management Office by tracking scope changes and supporting resolution of commercial and contract matters.
  • Support the general accounting function through monthly and quarterly close activities, journal entry preparation, and flux and variance analyses with client teams.
  • Coordinate with the EY Technical Accounting Advisory Group on technical accounting matters raised by managed services clients.
  • Help manage the accounting workstream for clients’ SEC filings, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of quarterly and ad hoc deliverables.
  • Provide day-to-day support across finance-related services, including treasury operations, stock-based compensation tracking, and coordination with banks, investment managers, and transfer agents.
  • Assist in coordinating payroll services provided through EY managed services and liaise with client HR to support benefits and tax reporting compliance.
  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with clients and external auditors during annual and interim audits.
  • Contribute to the development of materials for client Audit Committee and Board meetings, supporting the Regional IFMS Controller in finalization and delivery.
  • Support administration and maintenance of EY’s IF systems, including reconciliation and interface monitoring between subledgers and the general ledger.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including system enhancements, financial process improvements, and ad hoc projects to meet client needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a business discipline.
  • US CPA licensure in your work state.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience focused on financial reporting and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in a public company environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with financial software systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours when needed.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the EY office and client sites; a driver’s license is strongly recommended.
