Job Description

The Financial Advisor plays a key role in supporting hospital leadership and the CFO through the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of financial information. The position focuses on recurring reporting, budget and forecast support, and analytical work that informs operational and strategic decisions.

Monthly Financial Reporting and Variance Analysis

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis of actual results versus budget and prior year
  • Support month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Contribute to regulatory and system-level financial reporting

Partnering with Leadership and Departments

  • Work with department directors to explain performance drivers and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Support labor management and productivity reviews
  • Translate complex financial data into clear recommendations for clinical and operational leaders
  • Serve as a problem solver and critical thinker in ongoing analytical work

Budget Support and Forecast Development

  • Assist with annual operating and capital budget development
  • Develop volume, revenue, and financial impact forecasts for new service lines, physician arrangements, and payer contracts

Revenue, Cost Accounting, and Profitability Analytics

  • Analyze net revenue trends and payer mix shifts in partnership with revenue cycle and managed care teams
  • Prepare cost accounting and service-line profitability analyses

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of analytical experience preferred
  • Healthcare or hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems and data tools
