Job Description
East Central College is hiring a full-time Financial Aid Advisor in Union, MO (onsite). In this role, you will support students throughout the financial aid process while contributing to programs that help learners succeed. The position offers a salary range of $47,365.03 to $65,396.76 (Level 202), along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities
- Manage A+ budgets and report eligible A+ funding to the Missouri Department of Higher Education
- Advise A+ applicants and recipients on student aid procedures, attendance costs, personal budget development, and related economic responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate student needs; collaborate to set educational objectives, review ongoing academic progress, and support graduation and transfer requirements
- Respond to student, parent, lender, guarantee agency, and staff inquiries by in person, in writing, or by telephone regarding eligibility and awards
- Support student retention by demonstrating awareness of students’ areas of interest, college and community resources, scholarship opportunities, and difficult financial or personal issues
- Create and maintain a complete list of eligible A+ students, including reviewing cumulative GPAs each semester for eligible and ineligible A+ students
- Monitor the student financial assistance academic progress policy to determine continued eligibility
- Adjust spreadsheets and student accounts daily to reflect eligibility; send letters to students regarding eligibility and missing information
- Maintain billing for other A+ designated colleges for eligible courses completed at ECC
- Provide financial planning guidance to applicants and loan recipients, including resources and economic responsibilities related to awards
- Monitor the number of credits attempted per student for the A+ program
- Award and certify Access Missouri scholarships
- Perform assigned duties and related tasks using established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards with safe work practices and minimal supervision
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Two years related experience
- A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications
