Job Description

The Financial Analyst role at Charlie's Produce supports leadership through financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, profitability reporting, and process improvement. The position operates 100% on-site in Seattle, WA, partnering closely with the CFO and cross-functional managers.

Compensation

  • Estimated salary range: USD 90,000 - 110,000 per year
  • Additional note: The pay range is a good faith estimate and may vary based on qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical work location within the state.

Role Summary

The Financial Analyst prepares financial analyses and supports the company’s budgeting, forecasting, profitability initiatives, reporting, and process improvement efforts in partnership with the CFO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial analyses of operations, including financial statements with supporting schedules, to guide management decisions.
  • Track, measure, and work to improve all aspects of the company’s financial performance.
  • With the CFO, take a lead role in administering the annual budget process and work with division general managers and sales managers.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement across organizational functions, recommend changes, and assist with implementation.
  • Assist in preparing reports describing the company’s financial position, including income, margins, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
  • Support budget and financial forecast preparation; monitor, analyze, and report monthly operating results variances versus budget and forecast.
  • Support profitability and productivity initiatives focused on process improvements, including establishing and reporting key performance indicators.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and initiative to identify and recommend improvements.
  • Provide internal reports and revise or update reporting for improved usefulness and efficiency; furnish external reports when needed.
  • Serve as a finance liaison with IT to improve existing systems and implement new initiatives.
  • Complete ongoing special projects and other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related major.
  • Prior experience with the annual budgeting process, including working with managers across the company.
  • Strong working knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), plus knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections, including knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of business enterprise and other computer software applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership and persuasion skills, with the ability to make recommendations and influence targeted audiences to adopt them.
  • Strong analytical skills involving mathematical calculations, logical/relational comparisons, and problem solving.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CMA or CPA certification preferred.
