Job Description

Vak Pak, Inc. is seeking a qualified Financial Controller to oversee financial operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and adherence to GAAP and related standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Lead cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis to support growth and financial stability.
  • Manage month end and year end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Direct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors to maintain transparency and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial processes.
  • Operate and optimize accounting software, including QuickBooks or similar platforms, to support efficient operations and reporting.
  • Manage multi state sales tax compliance and related tax reporting.
  • Conduct account analysis and reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable activities to optimize cash management.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting topics, including double entry accounting and complex transactions, in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Support strategic planning through financial forecasting and analytical insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on corporate accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory reporting, and compliance standards.
  • Proven proficiency in financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and inventory management; manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of cash management practices including accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to partner with senior leadership on financial strategy.
  • Minimum 5 years in a controller or CFO role (required).
