Job Description

The Financial Controller will lead ART SIGN COMPANY’s finance function from Fort Lauderdale, overseeing all accounting operations and driving strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, refine and enforce internal control policies for cash management, credit, financial reporting, and administrative activities.
  • Oversee month-end close and the preparation of financial statements, with emphasis on project-based accounting and work-in-progress reporting.
  • Create and report key performance indicators to measure and communicate business performance.
  • Produce accurate ancillary reports, schedules and dashboards for management and the Board, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Present monthly reports and risk analyses to management and the Board of Directors.
  • Manage banking relationships and the online treasury platform, including daily cash management and regular bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor debt covenant compliance and lender reporting requirements.
  • Maintain the relationship with independent auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory filings and tax requirements.
  • Oversee the annual budget process; develop forecasts and financial models to illuminate performance, cost management, and investment opportunities.
  • Assist with broader business functions as needed, including HR, IT, Operations and administrative support to align with company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP; strong understanding of project-based accounting, project costing, and contract management.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Understanding of economic principles, financial markets and banking.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority-setting skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks is required.
  • FL-based or willing to relocate.

Overview

Art Sign is a leading provider of commercial signage fabrication, installation and maintenance services, serving national and regional customers in Florida. The position is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL and reports directly to the President.
