Job Description

Oversee corporate financial leadership for a diversified holding company with trucking, leasing, heavy-duty repair, and parts inventory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting operations across 4 affiliated companies
  • Run monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare consolidated and entity-level financial statements
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and applicable accounting standards
  • Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Analyze profitability by business unit, customer, fleet, and service line
  • Produce financial reports and recommendations for ownership and executive leadership
  • Coordinate annual audits, tax preparation, and financial reviews
  • Oversee billing, collections, and customer account management
  • Monitor aging reports and collection activity
  • Oversee freight billing, repair invoicing, lease payments, and inter-company receivables
  • Manage vendor payment processes and ensure timely payment of vendors, lenders, taxes, and other obligations
  • Set purchasing controls and expense management procedures
  • Negotiate vendor terms and monitor supplier performance
  • Oversee controls for fuel, parts, maintenance, equipment, and operating expenses
  • Oversee accurate payroll processing and payroll tax compliance
  • Administer health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefit programs
  • Coordinate annual benefit renewals and employee enrollment
  • Maintain compliance with labor laws and employment regulations
  • Develop and maintain employee policies, handbooks, and HR procedures
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  • Support capital planning and equipment replacement strategies
  • Oversee inventory accounting and internal controls for parts and shop supplies
  • Establish cycle count procedures and inventory reconciliation processes
  • Safeguard company assets and financial resources
  • Manage insurance renewals
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Identify operational and financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Establish performance standards and accountability measures
  • Improve systems, workflows, and reporting processes
  • Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership and executive leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing accounting and administrative teams
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, treasury management, and internal controls
  • Experience managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Depreciation Schedules
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including Importing & Exporting
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • USD 85,000 - 120,000 per year
