Financial Controller

Fast Track Express is hiring a Financial Controller for an onsite, in-person role based in Springfield Gardens, NY. This position plays a central part in maintaining accounting accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and delivering timely financial reporting to support business planning.

Role focus

The Financial Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, manage month-end close and financial statement preparation, and lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring. The role also requires ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, tax obligations, and applicable financial regulations while continuously improving accounting processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Supervise accounting staff and support timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and ongoing expense monitoring.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, financial transactions, and month-end closing procedures.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor financial performance, identify discrepancies, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, and applicable financial regulations.
• Coordinate with internal auditors, external accountants, and tax professionals.
• Support financial planning with accurate financial analysis for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting or financial management experience.
• Previous experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or warehousing is a plus.
