Job Description

Lincoln International offers a strategic FP&A leadership role onsite in Chicago, with a focus on shaping financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance analytics, and executive reporting across the firm. The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager partners with senior leaders, supports quarterly earnings and Board materials, and contributes to integration efforts following the IPO and the MarshBerry acquisition. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of short-term and long-term financial models that support the firm’s strategic and operational goals.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles across business units, geographies, and corporate functions.
  • Partner with business leaders and department heads to create operating plans, set financial targets, and monitor performance against expectations.
  • Consolidate global budgets and forecasts into comprehensive financial plans and executive materials for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Support quarterly earnings preparation through analysis of operating results, forecasting updates, and management reporting materials.
  • Analyze financial results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, quantify potential impacts, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
  • Prepare variance analyses comparing actual results to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, delivering recommendations to management.
  • Develop and refine executive reporting packages, dashboards, KPIs, and performance analytics to support informed decision-making.
  • Support materials for executive leadership, the Board, and Board committees, including performance reporting, forecasts, strategic planning updates, and related analyses.
  • Assist with external audit and regulatory reporting through analyses, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, workflow redesign, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Operations, Human Resources, and other functions to align planning assumptions and reporting.
  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to senior leaders across the organization and foster cross-functional relationships to enhance financial transparency.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of financial planning systems, reporting tools, and data infrastructure.
  • Lead special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as requested by executive leadership.
  • Coach and develop the FP&A team, promoting technical excellence and strong business partnership skills.
  • Contribute to the ongoing integration and professionalization of the global finance organization across legacy and newly acquired units.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or a related financial discipline.
  • Prior experience in financial services, investment banking, asset management, or professional services preferred.
  • Prior experience in a publicly traded company preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting processes.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, business drivers, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with planning and reporting systems (Adaptive, Anaplan, Workday, Hyperion, Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead through organizational change, build cross-team relationships, and influence stakeholders in evolving structures.
  • Interest in leveraging AI, automation, and data analytics to improve planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • CPA, CFA, MBA, or similar professional designation is preferred.

Additional Information
