Job Description

Univest Financial Corporation is hiring a Financial Planning Associate in King of Prussia, PA (hybrid). This role partners with experienced Wealth Advisors to build personalized financial plans, keep planning tools and processes running smoothly, and support client conversations with timely, accurate information.

You will help maintain the planning engine behind each client experience, from gathering data and modeling plans in financial planning software to coordinating planning tasks across clients, advisors, and internal teams. What you’ll do

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial planning processes and tools to strengthen the client and advisor experience.
  • Participate in client meetings and review calls, including travel to other Univest/Girard locations.
  • Help Wealth Advisors obtain planning data and supporting documentation from clients.
  • Support clients with data gathering requests and questionnaires.
  • Enter and evaluate client information in financial planning software.
  • Prepare and model customized financial plans across varying income levels and based on client circumstances, goals, and priorities.
  • Coordinate planning-related tasks among clients, advisors, and internal team members.
  • Work with the planning team to create planning content for internal distribution and for team/client use.
  • Support the planning team in identifying cross-selling opportunities across Univest and Girard.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and offerings impacting the financial planning market.
  • Attend monthly Girard team meetings to stay aligned on financial planning initiatives.
  • Learn and explain the firm’s investment selection criteria and process, including the investments used, and help educate clients on how the team manages wealth.
  • Participate in advisor meetings and training initiatives.
  • Maintain accountability for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Univest Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial planning, a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
  • CFP or a strong desire to obtain the Certified Financial Planner designation.
  • Strong interest in comprehensive financial planning.
  • Experience using eMoney Advisor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across the wealth organization.
  • Strong attention to detail, plus solid organizational and communication skills.
  • PC proficiency including MS Office, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint, and Salesforce.

Preferred experience

  • 0-3 years of financial planning experience.
  • Internship or professional experience in financial planning, wealth management, an RIA, or a financial advisory firm.
  • Experience preparing financial plans or planning analyses.

Salary range

$65,000 to $80,000 per year.
