Job Description

Columbus, Ohio serves as the on-site base for a Global Real Estate Financial Controller - Analyst within JPMorganChase. Based in the Global Real Estate Project Accounting team, you will support construction accounting and the month-end close for capital projects worldwide, coordinating with multi-functional groups to review expenditures, perform reconciliations, and ensure GAAP-compliant reporting and timely asset recognition.

Responsibilities

  • Review capital project expenditures to ensure proper accounting treatment in line with GAAP and firm policies, including timely capitalization of fixed assets
  • Execute month-end close tasks, including journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and financial analysis
  • Reconcile projects and accounts monthly, investigate variances, and provide explanations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business partners to resolve outstanding items; partners include internal customers and external service providers
  • Keep accurate documentation to support transaction processing in accordance with accounting practices and policies
  • Identify deviations from standards, determine root causes, and escalate to the supervisor and/or partners as appropriate
  • Support internal and external audit activities and inquiries with a controls mindset
  • Maintain effective communication lines across a global organization
  • Perform ad hoc analyses or other responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong US GAAP accounting knowledge
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with a track record of delivering against deliverables
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a structured mindset with an emphasis on process improvement and innovative thinking
  • Ability to multi-task, collaborate effectively, and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
