Sales Development Representative - Finance
Job Description
Build a holistic client practice through Mutual of Omaha Advisors’ Accelerator Program, transitioning from a trainee into a Financial Representative role.
Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive training program to develop skills needed to deliver holistic financial advice to clients.
- Participate in classroom discussions, goal-setting sessions, and progress evaluation meetings.
- Gain hands-on direct sales experience by marketing Individual Insurance products to clients.
- Work through a sales process competency test as part of the training experience.
- Develop and maintain prospecting capability through research, targeting, networking, communication, and related activities.
- Use personal networks, community events, and social media to support ongoing prospecting.
- Build detailed product knowledge and demonstrate expertise in product features and benefits.
- Coordinate the completion of content, proposals, and paperwork flow across field and Home Office teams to support a seamless application and underwriting process.
Requirements
- Successfully meet all trainee program requirements to build the skills and knowledge needed to excel.
- Obtain required insurance licenses before starting the job, with up to two attempts allowed for the Life and Health exam.
- Pass the CRD/FINRA background check at hire and on an ongoing basis.
- Complete securities licensing within 24 months of entry into the program.
- Be highly self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license and have reliable transportation for meetings and appointments.
- Applicants must not now, nor at any point in the future, require sponsorship for employment.
Preferred
- Knowledge of the Insurance/Financial Services industry, including products and marketing practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
Compensation
- Up to $96,000/year
Benefits
- Hourly wage: $16/hour during the training period (up to 30 days).
- $1,000 bonus after successful completion of the trainee period and promotion to a Financial Representative.
- After trainee period: promotion to a Financial Representative role with an annual base plus unlimited monthly sales incentive.
