Senior Accountant - Corporate Finance
Job Description
Thomas Cuisine offers a supportive, collaborative environment in Meridian, ID with a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm MST (with some flexibility). This Senior Accountant role supports high-quality accounting operations while giving you room to strengthen processes, controls, and reporting accuracy across the organization. Compensation is USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities
- Own month-end and year-end close, including client invoicing, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Conduct technical accounting research to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, including U.S. GAAP
- Maintain and account for lease activity, applying ASC 842 lease accounting requirements
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and help ensure timely resolution of reconciling items
- Manage payroll accounting, including payroll-related reconciliations, accruals, tax reporting, and general ledger entries
- Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations
- Assist with audit support and help standardize tax reporting in external systems
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve processes, controls, and reporting accuracy
- Help develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with operational departments to support accurate financial reporting and compliance
- Create internal reports on financial performance and support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation
- Experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance, payroll accounting, lease accounting (ASC 842), and financial audits
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ERP systems such as NetSuite, and payroll platforms such as Dayforce
- Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across all levels; able to work independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to accuracy, accountability, professionalism, and continuous process improvement
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Schedule and Work Location
- Work mode: In person
- Location: Meridian, ID 83642
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm MST (with some flexibility around working hours)
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- Primarily office-based; extended periods of sitting, computer work, and reviewing detailed financial data, reports, and spreadsheets
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via virtual meeting platforms while maintaining focus and accuracy during complex analytical work
