Job Description

Based in Chicago and operating on-site, Western Alliance Bank seeks a meticulous credit professional to support sponsor-finance lending. In this role, you’ll build and maintain financial profiles for current and prospective clients, craft credit studies for Loan Officers and executive leadership, and contribute to a range of credit department reporting. The position sits at the intersection of detailed financial analysis and cross-functional collaboration, advancing credit decisions within a sponsor-backed lending framework.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Credit Administration team by analyzing credit and collateral data to gauge lending risk.
  • Gather, organize, and assess company financials to ensure Bank compliance and update internal systems accordingly.
  • Engage directly with clients to address compliance issues and operational inquiries.
  • Review client financials and run sensitivity analyses to evaluate credit risk within Bank structures.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with recommended action plans derived from qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Collaborate across Bank groups to execute treasury management products, foreign exchange instruments, derivatives, and related legal documents.
  • Assemble loan packages for new and restructured facilities.
  • Coordinate reporting and requests with third parties, such as field auditors and appraisers.
  • Monitor loan disbursements to ensure adherence to Bank regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of general banking operations at an entry to intermediate level, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and other commercial banking products and services.
  • Understanding of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices at an entry to intermediate level.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and business/financial data at an entry to intermediate level.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
