Summary
As a senior finance leader for the Wilmer plant, you will build and maintain financial controls, oversee cost accounting, manage month-end close activities, and lead budgeting and forecasting. You will also manage cash planning and working capital reporting for U.S. operations. The role partners with plant operations and sales on project profitability, capacity decisions, ERP and process setup, and revenue recognition for long-cycle, custom-engineered projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing and project cost accounting for an engineer-to-order environment, including materials, direct labor, overhead rates and absorption, work in process, inventory valuation, standard costs, and job-cost variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, scrap, rework). Drive accurate job and project costing from quote through closeout.
- Monitor project-level gross margins, estimate-to-actual costs, change orders, and profitability by product line and customer. Identify margin erosion early and partner with Sales and Project Management on recovery actions.
- Own the monthly close, general ledger accuracy, financial statements, budget-to-actual reporting, and management dashboards for the Wilmer plant and U.S. entity. Oversee reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, payroll accounting coordination, and financial recordkeeping. Coordinate with group finance in India and the UAE on consolidation and intercompany transactions.
- Establish controls for raw material, WIP, and finished-goods inventory, including cycle counts and physical inventories. Manage inventory valuation, reserves, and E&O analysis. Track capital projects and fixed assets through plant startup.
- Apply percentage-of-completion and milestone billing along with revenue recognition under ASC 606 for long-lead data center and power generation projects. Partner with Sales and Project Management on backlog, billing schedules, retainage, and commission calculations tied to revenue recognition.
- Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and capital expenditure analysis, and build financial KPIs in partnership with operations. Prepare 13-week cash forecasts and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, vendor payments, customer deposits, and working capital reporting through the ramp-up.
- Deliver plant KPIs including gross margin by project and product line, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, throughput, scrap, and on-time delivery. Partner with Plant Manager, Manufacturing Program Manager, procurement, engineering, and executive leadership to support cost and operational decisions.
- Support quoting with cost models, margin analysis, and should-cost reviews for enclosures, e-houses, genset packaging, and SCR systems. Evaluate make-vs-buy and capacity investment decisions.
- Implement and strengthen the ERP/accounting platform covering general ledger, inventory, and job costing, as well as purchasing. Configure chart of accounts, cost centers, inventory controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties, and compliance documentation for a new facility.
- Coordinate banking, credit facilities, insurance, tax advisors (federal, Texas franchise, sales & use, property tax), external accountants, and annual audit requirements within approved authorization controls. Support lender and group reporting as required.
- Oversee payroll accounting, commission and bonus accruals, and benefits cost in coordination with HR. Manage and develop a small accounting team (AP, AR, cost analyst) as the plant scales.
Required Experience & Qualifications
