Job Description

Join Kane County Hospital in Kanab, UT, for a role that strengthens the financial foundation while supporting your professional growth. The Senior Financial Analyst / Controller Development protects the hospital’s financial integrity, oversees accounting records and reporting, guides budgeting and reimbursement analysis, tightens internal controls, and prepares the organization for audits. As a key financial advisor to executive leadership, you will drive operational and strategic decision-making through precise analysis, forecasting, and performance measurement. Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity of the hospital general ledger and financial reporting systems
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and applicable healthcare regulations
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting controls to safeguard hospital assets
  • Oversee account reconciliations and balance sheet verification processes
  • Review and approve journal entries and supporting documentation
  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Monitor cash flow, investments, debt obligations, and liquidity requirements
  • Assist executive leadership with strategic financial planning and decision support
  • Coordinate annual financial statement audits and external reviews
  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors, consultants, and governmental agencies
  • Recommend and implement operational and financial process improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Five years of progressively responsible accounting or financial analysis experience
  • Three years of healthcare finance or healthcare accounting experience
  • Experience preparing financial statements and reconciliations
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Candidate must possess, or be actively tracking toward, a master's-level degree; preferred paths include Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Master of Science in Accounting (MSA); Master of Business Administration (MBA) is acceptable but secondary to the preferred degrees
