Vice President of Finance/Controller

Qualstar Credit Union seeks a Vice President of Finance/Controller to lead strategic financial management, oversee accounting operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and sustain long-term financial health in a hybrid role based in Bothell, WA, with a salary range of USD 135,000 to 170,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of the Accounting function while cultivating a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
• Direct the preparation of accurate, timely GAAP‑compliant financial statements, regulatory reports, tax filings, and internal management reporting.
• Guide the month‑end close, general ledger reconciliations, and ongoing enhancement of accounting policies and standard operating procedures.
• Oversee liquidity management and the investment portfolio in line with Board‑approved policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, ALM reporting, and long‑term financial plans aligned with organizational objectives.
• Maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance; coordinate with external and internal auditors and regulators during audits.
• Partner with executive leadership to identify financial opportunities, assess organizational risks, and inform strategic decision‑making.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and financial regulations, translating them into practical policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to boost operational efficiency and strengthen financial processes for sustainable growth.
• Present financial results, analyses, and strategic recommendations to the executive team, Board of Directors, and regulatory agencies.
