Job Description
AcadianaCares, based in Lafayette, LA, is seeking an on-site Chief Financial Officer to lead the Finance department, overseeing accounting, procurement, cash management, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and grant reporting. The role offers $90,000 to $100,000 per year and comes with a benefits package. Responsibilities
- Oversee comptrollership and treasury duties
- Determine the organization's capital structure
- Develop and execute economic strategy and forecasting
- Manage all accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, to accurately reflect the organization's financial status
- Coordinate preparation of tax returns, IRS reports, and regulatory and statutory reports as needed
- Direct payroll processing, related recordkeeping, tax filings, deduction reporting, levies and garnishments, and the preparation of accounting transactions and documents; document and update procedures and prepare management reports
- Assess financial position and issue periodic reports on stability, liquidity, and growth
- Analyze costs and recommend actions to maintain cash flow and banking efficiency
- Lead the annual budget process and provide monthly financial reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors
- Advise the CEO and Board on expenditure control, revenue optimization, and implications of proposed services and programs
- Attend board, staff, and other managerial meetings as required
- Develop management reports to track trends and overall financial health
- Consolidate and direct cost accounting procedures along with other routine reports
- Supervise accounting staff and contracted accounting services
Requirements
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required
- A master's degree in Accounting or Finance, or an MBA from an accredited university, is preferred
- Minimum five years of experience in nonprofit budgeting and grants management, including fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting; experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center is preferred
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Sage experience is preferred
- High integrity and commitment to ethical work performance
- Clear communication and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to collaborate with people of diverse lifestyles
- Prior experience in HIV service, HIV prevention, healthcare, mental health, or substance abuse rehabilitation programs is preferred
