Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer role at Westside Community Services provides strategic leadership over financial operations, planning, and compliance as a key member of the executive leadership team. This on site position is based in San Francisco, CA, and offers an annual salary of USD 195,000.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial management for an operating budget exceeding $30 million, including federal, state, and local government funding along with private contracts and grants.
- Lead the development of the agency's annual budget and address operational issues to ensure targets are met.
- Generate and present monthly financial statements, forecasts, and analyses to the CEO.
- Produce comprehensive financial reports for the Board of Directors on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the annual independent audit, pension plan audit, compliance audits, and all federal, state, and local tax filings.
- Prepare new contract proposals and renewals with the City and County of San Francisco and other funding agencies.
- Develop funding strategies to support the introduction of new programs and services.
Requirements
- Education: BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting from an accredited institution. CPA license is highly preferred.
- Core accounting experience: 5 to 7 years of full-time professional accounting work with strong nonprofit accounting and auditing expertise.
- Leadership experience: At least 3 years of accounting supervisory experience in a nonprofit behavioral health setting.
- Contract expertise: Hands-on experience managing government contracts in Human Services, specifically with City/County funding mechanisms.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in Blackbaud Financial Edge, Sage Intacct, MIP Fund Accounting, or AccuFund Accounting Suite is highly preferred.
- Flexibility: Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned to support organizational needs.
